Replace a failing roof now and pay over time with financing through Service Finance Company, LLC, a home-improvement lender owned by Truist Bank. Get a free inspection and a written estimate first, then apply. Approval and terms come from the lender.
Roof financing lets you pay for a new roof in monthly installments instead of one lump sum, through a lender your roofer works with. Lifetime works with Service Finance, which has financed more than $15 billion in home-improvement loans since 2004. We price the job; the lender decides approval, plan and term.
Price first, loan second — the free inspection and written estimate come before any application, so the loan is sized to a real number.
One contractor, one contract — the same licensed C-39 crew handles tear-off, decking, permits and final inspection.
Lender-set terms — Service Finance offers more than fifty plan types; you see the ones you qualify for before you sign.
No lump sum up front — California caps the deposit at $1,000 or 10 percent, whichever is less, financed or not.

No more than $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less. That cap comes from California Business and Professions Code §7159.5, and it applies to every residential home-improvement contract. After the deposit, a contractor cannot take payment for work not yet done or materials not yet delivered, and any payments before completion must follow a dollar-and-cent schedule written into the contract.
10 percent would be $2,000, so the cap is $1,000. Any contract over $10,000 tops out at a $1,000 deposit. Anyone asking for half up front on a reroof is asking for something California law does not allow.
Your written contract lists each payment against a stage of work, such as materials delivered, tear-off and decking, then the finished roof and final inspection. The San Jose permit and inspection are part of the job, not an add-on.
Financing is one option, not the only one. Here is how the common choices compare, so you can pick the one that fits your budget. A full San Jose roof replacement starts around $12,000.
Apply through Lifetime and choose from the plans Service Finance approves you for. The loan covers the contract we quote, and payments start on the lender's schedule.
Borrow from your own bank against your home's equity, then pay us on the contract schedule as if paying cash. Rates and closing time depend on your lender.
Pay directly with no loan: a deposit capped by state law, then payments tied to the stages written into your contract.
If the roof has years left, a targeted repair can buy time to save. Our inspection tells you honestly which side of the repair-or-replace line your roof is on.
A roof near the end of its life rarely fails on a convenient schedule. Financing lets you fix it on your timeline instead of the next storm's.
A leak that reaches the decking or ceiling adds rot repair and interior work to the bill. Replacing in the dry season keeps the job to the roof itself.
A financed roof gets the same Owens Corning Platinum Preferred warranty, up to 50 years non-prorated on materials and workmanship, plus our 10-year workmanship warranty.
Your estimate lists the scope, materials and price before you apply, so the loan amount matches a real number rather than a guess.
No application happens until you have a price and know what the roof actually needs.
We inspect the roof, deck and attic, photograph what we find, and give you a written estimate with the scope and price.
If you want to finance, we help you start the Service Finance application. The lender reviews it and shows you the plans you qualify for.
You sign one contract with a written payment schedule. We pull the permit, install the roof, and pass the city's final inspection.
Lifetime Roofing & Renovation, Inc. is a licensed C-39 roofing contractor, CA License #1090028, roofing the Bay Area since 2010.
The kind of project homeowners finance: on this South San Jose home, the old covering came off to reveal gapped plank sheathing, which made a full replacement the only sound option.
Yes. Lifetime Roofing & Renovation offers financing through Service Finance Company, LLC, a home-improvement lender owned by Truist Bank. Financing is subject to credit approval, and the lender, not Lifetime, sets the plans and terms you qualify for. Start with a free roof inspection and written estimate, then decide whether to finance.
Service Finance Company, LLC is a home-improvement lender based in Boca Raton, Florida, and a subsidiary of Truist Bank since 2021. It finances roofing, windows, HVAC and other home projects through licensed contractors in all 50 states.
Service Finance makes every credit decision and sets its own approval criteria, so we cannot promise approval or quote a minimum score. Once you apply, the lender tells you which plans you qualify for, and you can compare them before you sign anything.
No more than $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less. California Business and Professions Code §7159.5 sets that cap for home-improvement contracts, and after the deposit a contractor cannot take payment ahead of the work done or materials delivered. Every Lifetime contract follows it, whether you pay directly or finance.
It depends on your home equity and the rates you are offered. A home equity line of credit is borrowed from your bank against your house; contractor financing is arranged through us with Service Finance. Compare the APR, term, fees and total cost of each in writing before choosing.
Yes. Every project starts with a free 21-point roof inspection and a written estimate with no obligation, so you know the real price first. See what drives that price in our San Jose new roof cost guide.
